Klaxons latest single “Golden Skans” has reached number 14 this week in the UK charts based on download sales alone. Although they’re signed to Polydor I’m sure they’re all delighted about the new rules now that “singles can chart from the moment they become available as official downloads”.

After all the waiting to see if it was really going to happen, Koopa - the pop/punk band from Essex, England is officially the first unsigned band to break into the UK top 40 charts. They entered the charts at number 31 on Sunday with their debut single, “Blag, Steal and Borrow”.
