Cool band alert! The Blood Arm is a rockin’ band from LA, and their sound travels far - at times eerily reminiscent of Scottish band Franz Ferdinand, who happen to be fans of the band…and wow these guys have rocked my socks off. The best way to listen to The Blood Arm’s “Suspicious Character” single - released in 2006 - is to turn it up as loud as you can. “Stay Put” is another great track worthy of loud listening.

Formed in 2002, The Blood Arm are really in the pocket with their sound and it seems like they’ve been playing together longer than five years. To only compare them to Franz Ferdinand would be doing them a disservice because they do have their own sound and look, and their track “Going To Arizona” proves that they are able to break away from the comparisons.

So far I’ve only heard three tracks by The Blood Arm and I’m looking forward to hearing their upcoming release, “Angela” from Lie Lover Lie. Photos on their blog for the video shoot for “Angela” include the band playing their instruments while singer Nathaniel Fregoso is on a black horse, that for some reason he refers to as an elephant in the blog. Inside joke maybe? Either way, it’s the first time I’ve seen an image like this and I like it. Looking forward to seeing the video, too.
