When I first heard “Shine On” by Jet I immediately thought of Oasis during the chorus of the song. Another observation that I’ve made is that sometimes when I see Jet’s lead singer, even though he looks nothing like him, there’s just something about Nic Cester that reminds me of Bono from U2. These observations are nothing but complimentary. After all, Bono and Oasis are huge. I’m a fan of the Australian band Jet and have been for awhile now.

“Shine On” is off of Jet’s new album by the same name, and the single is scheduled for release March 5th in the UK. What’s sad about the track is that Nic Cester wrote the song about the passing of his and his brother and band mate Chris Cester’s father. The good thing though, is that it’s a good song and I’m thinking that it could be a big hit for them. Very catchy and radio friendly.

Jet has a very busy tour schedule a head of them with more dates on their itinerary than I’ve seen in awhile for a band. If you’re in the UK the US or Australia then they might be coming to a town near you. Probably a show not to miss if you can make it.
