The Oxford based band The Young Knives have certainly made their mark on the music scene - not only here in Oxford but around the whole of England. Now it looks like they’re getting ready to meet the Americans as they are scheduled to play in the states on their upcoming tour.

The first time I saw The Young Knives wasn’t in a pub or club in Oxford but actually on TV performing a very short live clip on the Harry Hill show about two years ago. Word was certainly getting out amongst the local bands at that point about the new up and coming indie band who at that time were just at the beginning of what was to become more appearances on UK Television as well as playing the major UK festival circuit.

Their indie geek chic sound and quirkiness is reminiscent of the Talking Heads and they’ve come up with some pretty cool songs and videos to date. It’s great to see that they’re touring the states and while there they’ve included a few days at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas in March. This will be a great opportunity for them to be seen and heard by industry big wigs as well as other bands and musicians.
