Elton John’s latest single, “Tinderbox” is scheduled for release on Monday December 11th in the UK. “Tinderbox” is off of the album The Captain and the Kid which is a sequel to Elton John’s 30 year old #1 album Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. The song is about the often times tense relationship throughout the years between Elton and longtime co-songwriter Bernie Taupin.

“Tinderbox” has a country feel to it which is a nice change for Elton John. I watched him sing “Imagine” with Dolly Parton last year on the Country Music Awards - which would have been a clue as to the direction of his next album. The Captain and the Kid is a good mix of country, rock, pop and blues.

Elton John is currently on tour in Australia and will be back in the states early next year to begin his shows at Caesars Palace in Vegas.
