There must be something in the water in Glasgow, Scotland because there has been some incredible music coming from up north. We’ve been lucky to have played Glasgow based bands Dieselbone and The Hussys on the Trendy Bands Podcast, and now fellow Glaswegian band The Fratellis have been making more and more of a name for themselves with each song that they release.
They’re set to release their third single, “Whistle For the Choir” on November 27th in the UK and I have a feeling it’s going to do very well in the charts. The single will be available in CD, 8″ coloured vinyl and limited edition shaped vinyl picture disc formats.
Back in June we were on the set of one of the last Top of the Pops aired on the BBC watching friends of ours in the Guillemots play and The Fratellis were also one of the acts performing that day. They were really good and I remember after the filming was done, the guys were sitting outside of the BBC on a picnic table looking like they might have been waiting for a ride. We didn’t really know much about them at the time, just that they were a new band on the scene lucky enough to get a slot on Top of the Pops!
