The Good The Bad and The Queen on BBC Electric Proms

We’ve been lucky to be able to watch the Electric Proms on the BBC’s interactive tv service and have enjoyed sets by Paul Weller and Jamiroquai. After weeks of build up though, I’m not quite sure how I feel about Gorillaz and Blur frontman Damon Albarn’s new project The Good The Band and The Queen which features Paul Simonon (The Clash) on bass, ex-verve guitarist Simon Tong and drummer Tony Allen from Fela Kuti.
To finally be able to see Paul Simonon playing bass with a new band was exciting to say the least, however, I was hoping to hear more of an edge to the music especially with a name like The Good The Bad and The Queen. I could be more harsh with my opinion on this, but have decided to just leave links here for readers and listeners to make up their own minds. After all, maybe it was the hype that left me with high expectations and am now feeling quite let down.
Oh well. Maybe in time I’ll grow to like it more, will have to wait and see.
